Our Kent Friends Group have been holding fantastic events to raise money for our Kent homes- Greenfields and The Gables.
At the end of 2016 they held a wreath making day, for ten enthusiastic guests and once again Amanda Taggart from Jolly Lovely gave her time to give an expert demonstration assisted by Alison Streeter. They raised a fantastic £650 and our thanks go to Peregrine and Deirdre Massey for speaking and hosting the event in their barn.
They also jumped at the chance to host the first local Literary Laughs book club quiz. The event caught the imagination of many Kent and East Sussex book clubs and they filled 60 places with ease. Their partner venue was the Bodiam Boating Station in Newenden, who generously offered not only the venue, but also their waiting staff and chef, charging only £10 per head for a delicious two course meal, they raised a fantastic £980.
Then in early 2017 the group held a Vintage Bridge Tea Party, at Benenden Village Hall raising £1,257!
Visit our Friends pages for more information on their past events and if this has sparked your interest and you want to find out about a group in your area please use the contact us button to the top right.
Due to the hard work and passion of our Friends Groups and donations from our other areas of support including Sporting Events, Corporate Supporters and Trusts we have been able to complete some exciting projects; most recently we have had a playroom built at one of our Kent communities, shown below.
