Childhood First is a leading charity in the provision psychotherapeutic treatment for children and young people suffering the consequences of early life trauma. Thornby Hall, Northants, is a therapeutic community for up to 24 young people aged 11 to 19.
Waking night staff ensure the safe keeping and general wellbeing of the young people’s group throughout the night. This includes being aware of where everyone is, that night boundaries and rules are being followed and being a source of advice and comfort. Each night is supported by an experienced therapeutic care worker. When the young people are asleep and settled, waking night staff undertake tasks to help in the running of the house such administration or domestic duties. Experience of working with young people in a professional capacity would be advantageous, but full training and clinical supervision will be provided.
