£22,414 – £24,188 per annum

Childhood First is a charity with a long and successful history of providing integrated programmes of care, education and treatment for traumatised Children and young people with complex emotional and psychological needs. Gables House is a specialist residential children’s home providing a programme of care, treatment and education for a group of four children and young people aged between 10 to 14 years.
We are seeking a Deputy Team Leader to support their Team Leader in the running of the community during the shifts and to actively participate in the therapeutic environment, ensuring the highest standard of care prevails for each resident.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a childcare residential environment and have an up-to-date knowledge of child development and the effects of trauma, loss, abuse and deprivation. Experience of working with Young People with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and challenging behaviours is essential.
Candidates will preferably hold a QCF level 3 in child care or equivalent and will have experience of or be committed to undertaking training in providing effective line management, supervision and clinical guidance to therapeutic care staff. You will also be committed to working with stakeholders and partner agencies.
