If you’d like to get fit, experience a new culture, meet like-minded people and raise really valuable funds for Childhood First there may be no better way to do it than to challenge yourself to an overseas event.
Action For Charity enable you to hike Mount Kilimanjaro, or cycle to Paris or walk along the Great Wall of China!
The trek up Mount Kilimanjaro event takes place from 15th to 26th September 2017 in Africa.
Open Challenges- Trek
You have options to self fund; so pay for the trip yourself £1,995 and anything you raise on top is donated to Childhood First, or Minimum Sponsorship; which means raising £3,999 minimum and the trip cost is taken out of this! Both need a registration of £395. Contact Holly at Childhood First or the staff at Action For Charity.
You can also take part in various challenges, including London to Paris Bike Rides, Peru Treks, Kilimanjaro Treks, India Cycles or China Treks. The average sponsorship for these events varies depending on where and the duration of the trip, but we will be here to support you every step of the way.
Visit www.charitychallenge.com, www.skylineoverseas.co.uk or www.doitforcharity.com and take a look at all of the open challenges available to you and search by location, activity type, challenge grading and departure dates.
You might also like to take part in events where you can get your own place and then contact us for help with fundraising and training; for instance you could take part in the amazing New York Marathon in November, or the Paris Marathon in April.
A story of Childhood First supporters who conquered Kilimanjaro and raised £10,000!
Richard and Freddie Scarratt, supporters of our Greenfields community in Kent, conquered Kilimanjaro and raised over £10,000 for essential improvements to that facility in the process.
Richard said about the challenge: “it was an incredible experience climbing through tropical rain forest, moorland, arid desert and finally ice fields. The glaciers at the summit are magnificent”.
